Do You Have Questions About Your Bill?

  • What billing or insurance information will I receive?

You may receive a copy of your optometrist's bill after your insurance has paid. If non-covered services or insurance denial take place. We do verify insurance but it is also the patient's responsibility to know what their insurance covers and does not cover.

  • How long will it take to get things settled with the insurance company?

Generally, it takes from 45 to 60 days to obtain payment or denials from an insurance carrier.

  • Why am I getting bills?

You may have a deductible or co-insurance for services rendered. We verify insurance benefits before you come in for your appointment(s) but do not always have access to full benefit information. We do try and get as much information as possible before you are seen and notify you of fees due upon the day of your optometrist visit. You will be responsible for paying these bills.

  • I received a notice that my insurance company has paid on my bill -- but I can't understand how they calculated their payment amount. Do you know?

If we have received any such information from your insurance company, we'll be glad to share it with you. However, for answers to any questions about insurance payments, deductibles, co-surance, or co-payments, you generally need to check with your insurance company.
